Hatching Egg Details

We no longer offer chicks, grow outs, etc.

For the rest of 2026, we have Pasture Picks hatching eggs only.

Our birds are living together for the rest of the year.

We will open 2027 preorders between December 1st and December 15th.

Available hatching eggs in excess of preorders are posted on our Facebook group and are sold first come, first served. We do not keep an unpaid waiting list, but we do allow preorders. Please contact us to preorder!

This is a "rainbow dozen" assortment of unlabeled hatching eggs.

No buyer requests allowed.

We ship eggs in SC *only* for an additional $30/dozen.

Egg availability is ALWAYS at the mercy of our laying ladies.

We reserve the right to replace eggs with comparable eggs in available dozens if necessary. For example, if we drop an egg after we have taken pictures, we will replace it with one as similar as possible.

If you contact us regarding the availability of an advertised dozen, you have 15 minutes to claim and pay. A conversation does not reserve eggs or chicks, payment does. Egg hatchability goes down daily; therefore, we cannot communicate for hours over available eggs. We want our buyers to have the best chance possible at excellent hatch rates.

Once you claim a set of hatching eggs, be prompt with pickup. If a buyer is not prompt and eggs become older than Crosby Lake Farm feels comfortable selling, we reserve the right to cancel the sale. Shipped orders will be mailed on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays only. Eggs are typically under 4 days old when shipped/picked up unless otherwise stated. We ship in the state of SC ONLY.

Hatch rates are not guaranteed. We check fertility regularly to ensure we are offering fertile, healthy eggs. Once eggs leave our hands, they are no longer our responsibility. Hatching methods, humidity, incubator brands, shipping, and other outside stressors, including the car ride home, can and do effect hatch rates. We are not responsible for shipping times or lost/damaged packages. We do not replace eggs unless we discover a fertility issue at the farm after sending or we feel we packaged them incorrectly for shipping, etc.

Breeder Credit

At Crosby Lake Farm, we have spent years researching and looking for the best birds to reach our egg color goals. We also sought out to find breeders with similar goals in order to start with our best foot forward.

Our current breeds utilized in the making of our own Olive Eggers are: Black Copper Marans, Welsummers, Cream Legbars, Silverudd's Blues, and Ameraucanas. We have lots of crosses purchased as hatching eggs from other breeders that round out our original breeding stock.

As stated prior, we do not keep track of exact pairings and breeds used. We breed for egg color only. Once a pullet lays and her egg color is identified, she is given to whatever rooster we feel will best enhance her egg color. This cycle continues with each subsequent generation.
